Well here’s something fun, if you’re a music producer living in Japan, Konami’s having a little contest, they want remixes of one of 12 particular songs from Sirius. Winner gets a trip to Konami’s HQ in Roppongi, and gets on the Sirius OST. Yes, it is Japan only.

Songs to choose from are:

 • Elisha
 • Miracle Meets
 • Drop
 • G59
 • She is my wife
 • Dominion
 • Galgalim
 • Bad Maniacs
 • Programmed Sun
 • Bloomin’ Feeling
 • Kazuasobi
 • With Me

And if we haven’t made it clear enough already, Japan only.

The mysterious League Mode has been activated on Sirius, and from what it seems like, it seems like either another attempt by Konami to make me make more jokes about that song from 14th Style, another way to screw importers by not giving them their fancy ranking modes, or giving the players yet another way to compete.

Here’s how it works, there are 2 leagues, the Clear League and the Score League. Playing the mode will randomly pick 2 songs, and then allow you to pick 2 more songs from a weekly selection of tracks for that league. You then play the mode a specified number of times a week to earn League Points and increase your rank, calculated from factors such as EX Score in Score League and how much was comboed in Combo League. You have to play the mode more or less depending on your rank, and not playing for a period can cause your rank to be demoted.

Anyway long story short, yay more appendages for the average player to compare.

In what is a pretty shocking event for even general gamers, multiple sources have confirmed that composer Akira Yamaoka will be leaving Konami. We do not know where he is going, maybe wanting to pursue a solo career or going back to freelance work but still, this is quite sad.

Yamaoka’s most prominent role at Konami had been his role as the main composer for the Silent Hill series. Of course, Yamaoka had some songs appear in Bemani games too, including his opening theme to Silent Hill 3 (which appeared on the dreaded US PlayStation 2 version of DDR Extreme, and later SuperNOVA), and some other interesting original songs. Especially iFUTURELIST, which was the crowing moment of bizarre on DistorteD for sure.

More updates when we get them of course

For those who are too lazy to unlock it themselves, here’s how:

 1. Make your arcade rivals “BEAT”, “MANIA”, “IIDX”, “16″, “SECRET”
 2. Make an original expert course and call it “BEATFREE,” the contents do not matter
 3. Play through it, let the credits roll
 4. Have an enjoy.

Reports saying 3 new songs got added to the location test out of nowhere.

 • ALL MY LOVE – kors k feat. rire
 • CG project – Latennighters
 • 不沈艦CANDY – Risk Junk

If they’re gonna put 不沈艦CANDY on there, why not have Colorful Cookie and Bitter Chocolate Striker on there too?

The current issue of Arcadia Magazine reveals a new feature that will be coming to IIDX Sirius soon, it appears to be some sort of “league” mode, but I’m not all sure since I unfortunately cannot read most Japanese so…

Oh cool, is this like The $25,000 Pyramid or something?

Oh cool, is this like The $25,000 Pyramid or something?

If there is anyone out there who is competent enough to know that it means (especially ones that have a Twitter or Facebook account that you can log into the comment system with directly now *hint hint*) to figure out what this is, I’d be grateful.
