The location tests for the 18th version of the beatmania IIDX franchise start tonight at Cat’s Eye in Tokyo, Japan, and as always, I will be keeping track of developments and new features coming out of the location tests tonight, so please, share, tweet, etc. Get the word out. I will be updating live for most of the night so stay tuned!
Also just like the Sirius tests, I will also try and mirror some videos from the test for you all to enjoy so please, stay tuned.
Well, here it is, it’s beatmania IIDX 18: Resort Anthem, looks like it’s gonna be tropical, orange, etc. I have some high hopes this could get epic. Location tests start on Thursday in Japan, so get everyone here on Wednesday night, I’ll be all over this.

We got the goods you all wanted to know about this mysterious new IIDX PC game, so let us go over the facts I was told from my friend from the very complete beta build:
It defaults to a DJMAX style key setup, although it seems like a classic mode may be available since there’s a USB controller mentioned The closed beta test UI isn’t complete, but we know its got a very technical look and it’s all steel and purple with lots of rounded edges and slightly different fonts than usual. The server has several revival songs and a few brand new songs right now, including:
Yes, it also has multiplayer lobbies too I’m told. There may also be 3D venues too. Also, I was told that charge notes score a little differently now, closest thing I could gather is to think how Pump It Up does holds, sorta like that.
Also, I got a low quality screenshot of the gameplay screen, god that chart looks … horrid for some reason.
Thankfully it looks like a variation of the typical UI, and I presume this is the Prastik Dancefloor song, if that what I think it is, I think it’s doing one of those “epic buildups to a breakdown” some songs have nowadays. And also notice the charge notes look different for some reason, oversight maybe?
